AN ADDRESS BY
THE PRESIDENT ON BEHALF OF HIMSELF AND OTHER PRINCIPAL OFFICERS OF THE GOD’S KINGDOM SOCIETY
Dear Brothers, Sisters and Distinguished Guests:
To God Almighty be glory, honour and praises for ever, Amen. And grace be to you all who have come here from within and outside Nigeria to witness this epoch-making event of the installation of the President and other principal Officers of the God’s Kingdom Society, the Church of the Living God, and peace from God Almighty and from our Lord Jesus Christ
On behalf of myself and fellow members of the new Executive Board of God’s Kingdom Society just installed, I give sincere thanks to God our Creator through His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ for His grace on us in honouring us to take charge of the affairs of this great organization – the God’s Kingdom Society – which is an integral part of His universal government of righteousness and peace on earth – His promised NEW EARTH – 2 Peter 3: 13.
The God’s Kingdom Society has no doubt become “a strong nation” by the grace of God. (Isaiah 60:22) St. G. M. Urhobo, the founding instrument of the Church, giving account of His commission, among other things, stated: “After three and half years’ diligent and prayerful studies of the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ revealed himself to me in a vision and commanded me to go and proclaim the good news of God’s Kingdom (or ‘Gospel of Peace’) to all nations as the only remedy for all human sufferings and woes; to expose all the false doctrines which Satan had used to deceive the people and to keep them in ignorance of God’s Kingdom and purpose of creation; and to pronounce God’s written judgment against all wickedness.” Thus, when he departed this woeful world for Zion in heaven in 1952, he left a rich legacy which our predecessors upheld until now that we are taking over.
It is our determination by the grace of God to continue with greater vigour the message of hope and salvation. To achieve this our supplications to the Almighty God JEHOVAH are in line with the words of Solomon when he was appointed King over Israel by God, as it is written: “And now O LORD my God, Thou hast made Thy servant King instead of David my father. I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or how to come in. And thy servant is in the midst of Thy people which Thou hast chosen, a great people… Give therefore Thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this Thy so great a people?” – 1 Kings 3:6-9.
To those of you who have made the sacrifice by taking time off to grace this event we extend our invitation to join us in prayer continually to God Almighty to help us in the task ahead by His grace.
The God’s Kingdom Society – the Church of the Living God --
has made many to depart from evil and to practise righteousness.
This in itself is a blessing to Nigeria in that when men fear God they
will not indulge in crimes of any sort. It is this that makes a
nation to be great. (Proverbs 14:34) To succeed in the fight
against indiscipline, corruption and all sorts of evils, we urge on the
print and electronic
media to give wider publicity to the sermons and exhortations of the
God’s Kingdom Society so that the tranformative power of the
unadulterated truth in the Bible - being preached by the Church,
will
reach a wider audience and thus lead to the much desired
peace in the country, Nigeria and the world at large. One example
of the humanizing effect which the Church has had on people is the
spirit of oneness among members even though they come from
different ethnic groups. Members of the God’s Kingdom
Society have continued in peace because they fear God and understand
that they are one in Christ Jesus.
We cannot end this address without acknowledging the good works of the outgoing Executive Board particularly in times of crises and the cooperation of other members of the Lord’s Ministry, the Laity and well-wishers of the Church. We look forward to more of such cooperation from all in this new era for the Church to continue to grow and for the blessing of all who love to do God’s will by His grace.
In closing, let us cast our minds on the word of St. Paul to the Thessalonian converts as it is written: “Finally, brethren (for we are all children of ONE God, the Father of ALL), pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you. Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. – 2 Thessalonains 3:1,16,
We pray God to bless you all who love to do His will and give you all His traveling mercies so that you reach your destinations in peace, by His grace and power, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thank you very much.
Brother Oseghale Emmanuel Aighalua
