AN ADDRESS BY
OUT-GOING EXECUTIVE BOARD
Beloved Brothers, Sisters, Distinguished Guests and Friends:
May glory, honour, praises and adoration be to JEHOVAH the Most High God for His blessings and protection over us to see this day and to witness this historic event – the installation of the President and other Principal Officers of the Church by the grace of God and the handing over of power to the President.
The desire of the Church to have a successor to President Ebenezer Temisaren Otomewo who died in April 1997 could not be materialized early enough as a result of satan’s numerous tribulations to destabilize the Church. Inspite of the mounting tribulations God did not leave us alone. In exercise of His lovingkindness God Almighty helped us tremendously.
THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
On Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20, 1997 a seven (7) man Executive Board was constituted with Minister Matthias Obiesigha Iwoh as the Chairman by the grace of God.
The Executive Board started to work immediately. Glory be to God Almighty, for the achievement of the Executive Board in the areas of, winning Souls to Christ through evangelism, adoption of new Ministers, opening of new Branches, acquisition of lands and properties, equipping of the Watch and Pray Studio with new computers and digitalized video/audio equipment, and many others.
It was David the Psalmist who declared: “Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.” Therefore, “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.” – Psalm 40:5; 115:1.
So in the words of Apostle Paul, brethren, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.” – 2 Corinthians 3:5.
We shall continue to serve in whatever capacity God will graciously place us as we count not ourselves “to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” – Philippians 3:13,14. Blessed be Thy holy name forever O! JEHOVAH.
APPOINTMENT OF PRINCIPAL OFFICERS OF THE CHURCH
One of the remarkable features in the annals of the Church in recent times was the adoption of the revised Constitution during the Ministers’ Conference in June 2001. Three Registered Trustees of the Church – Ministers (Pa) E.A. Adedokun, M.O. Iwoh and G.O. Ifeacho, signed it into force. Thereafter, the Assembly of the Lord’s Ministry Elders was inaugurated. In its first official sitting after its inauguration, the Assembly of the Lord’s Ministry Elders organised the election in which the four (4) key Officers emerged with Ministers O.E. Aighalua as President, S.C. Nwaeke – Vice President, G.A. Eghagha – General Secretary and D.E. Alli as Treasurer of the Church. These with Two (2) Trustees – Ministers Godwin O. Ifeacho and John E. Ikoba will be installed as the new Executive Board of God’s Kingdom Society, today Saturday, September 1, 2001 by the grace of God.
We thank God for what He has used us to do in the Church these past four years. We thank and congratulate our Chairman, Minister M.O. Iwoh for his courage, steadfastness and good understanding in hours of tribulation. The out-going Executive Board, made up of Ministers Matthias O. Iwoh – Chairman, Gideon O. Ugoji, Gamaliel A. Eghagha, Samuel C. Nwaeke, Joel O. Solupeju with Eric I. Okoh as Secretary to the Executive Board had the support of the entire Church.
That God Almighty helped us to carry on this great work with sacrifices, self-denial and dedication up till this day in which the President and other Principal Officers of the Church are to be installed is a turning point in the annals of the Church. We thank God that we have kept our word. Glory be to God for this great achievement in the Lord.
We thank the Lord’s Ministry, the Laity Officers and indeed the entire Church for your support and cooperation through out our years in office. We enjoin you in the Lord to extend the same support and cooperation and even more to the new Executive Board by God’s grace. May God bless you all, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
May the President and his cabinet be guided by God to carry on the
work faithfully with zeal to the glory of God and for their own
blessing and salvation. Amen.
