Fellow Urhobo,

Okoro is an Urhobo name. It could very well be related to the Okoro in Bini but my maternal family would not consider it amusing if you tell them why their ancestors named their fore-father Okoro (The history is within the family - they know).

Considering the long history of association between Bini and Urhobo, I see no reason why Okoro could not be Urhobo or Bini name. There are Urhobo people who answer to Kehinde, Taiwo, Gowon, Kennedy, Yahaya, most likely Abacha and Babangida. So, what is the fuss about Okoro, prince or a likable name at some time in Urhobo history?

When Urhobo Historical Society audience starts reacting to every issue from Edo, then have we become Edo-phobic?
