Thus says the Lord:

Say to those who are fearful-hearted,

Be strong, do not fear!

Behold, your God will come with vengeance,

With the recompense of God;

He will come and save you.

 

See, I have taken out of your hand,

The cup of trembling,

The dregs of My cup of fury;

You shall no longer drink it.

But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you,

Who have said to you,

‘Lie down, that we may walk over you.’

And you have laid your body as the ground.

 

It shall come to pass in that day,

That this burden will be taken away from your shoulder,

And his yoke from your neck,

And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

 

You will never again depend on him who oppressed you,

But will depend on the Lord,

The Holy One of Israel, in truth.
