GUEST SPEAKER:PROFESSOR
Andrew Evwaraye, Ph.D., our invited guest speaker this year, is a Nuclear
Physicist. After receiving the Ph.D degree in Nuclear Physics, Professor
Evwaraye served as an Assistant Professor of Physics at Antioch College,Yellow
Spring, Ohio in the early 1970s before joining the General Electric Company
Research and Development Center in Schenectady, New York asa
Research Physicist for several years. In 1978, Dr. Evwaraye moved to Nigeria
as Professor of Physics at the University
of Port Harcourt. Professor
Evwaraye served as the Dean of School of Physical Sciences from 1978 -1983
as well as Acting Dean of School of Engineering at the University
of Port Harcourt. Professor Evwarayebecamethe
Deputy Vice Chancellor, University
of Port Harcourt 1986-1990.
He was Senior National Research Council {U.S.A.)
Fellow at Wright Patterson Air Force Base 1994-1995. Professor Evwaraye
who retired from the University
of Port Harcourt in 1998,
is currently affiliated with the University of Dayton, Ohio Department
of Physics and continues
research in condensed matter Physics at the Air Force Base.

Nelson Gbenedion, a distinguishedprofessional
and respected community leader in the New York
area chairs this year’s occasion.
CHIEF MUKORO MOWOE
(1890-1948) was born at Evwreni, in Ughelli
North Local Government area, of DeltaState.
Chief Mukoro Mowoe is widely known as the most influential, dedicated,
selfless Urhobo leader that ever lived. Chief Mowoe joined our ancestors
on August 10, 1948.
The Urhobo National Forum organizes lectures in August of each year to
celebrate the life and times of this great
leader of Urhobo people, Niger Delta and Nigeria.
