OPENING ADDRESSES

The Washington, DC, Peace Summit on the Warri crisis of the western Niger Delta of Nigeria met at Howard University on July 24, 1999, beginning with addresses by its Conveners and leaders of the three ethnic delegations of Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo. A message from Chief Anthony Enahoro, the veteran Nigerian statesman, was read during the open session of the Peace Summit.
