OIL SPILLAGE
IN NIGERIA'S NIGER DELTA
PSYCHO-MORPHOLOGICAL & EMPIRICAL OVERVIEW
PRIMARY AUTHORS/RESEARCHERS:

(DECRESCENT - PSYCHO-NEURO-IMMUNOLOGY AND PSYCHO- MORPHOLOGICAL DISORDER IN THE NIGER DELTA OCCASIONED BY MARGINALIZATION AND THE MULTI-NATIONAL COMPANIES' OPERATIONS).
Our consortium of professionals identified the deadly primary symptoms in the psycho krenein (crises) management research institutes in psycho-anatomy and morphology in all impacted sites visited.
The above discovery states that the function of our nervous system is highly related to our defensive mechanism and response to bacterial, denoting that man's survival is solely dependent on the adequate function of the major somatic systems. (1) the Nervous System, 2) the Endocrine System and most significantly the Immune System which hitherto must all function in perfect harmony at all times or else serious somatic and psycho-morphological disorders could be experienced that is capable of making self perception-illusive, positive potential ecological adherence passive and socio-psychological adjustment a mirage and of course this is the vivid picture of these impacted victims in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
It is obviously noted that the illusive passive and acute decrescent psycho-neuro-immunological state of the victims gave way to assorted psycho-somatic phobic and morphological disorders herein after discussed for clarity of purpose/global apologies and ease of reference.
It is surprising to note that the disenchanted, depressed and despondent people of the Niger Delta by our findings, had constantly and painstakingly for several years lived in an uneasy relationship with economic, agricultural, psycho-morphological and medical uncertainty due to MULTI-NATIONAL OIL COMPANIES persistent negligence to the pitiable state of the peace loving people.
Unfortunately, it is now crystal clear that there exists a complete spectrum of unfavourable opinions about the fate of these afore-mentioned people now Including the pessimistic and optimistic toxicologists, Economists, psychoanalysts, several environmental and medical experts and even local forecasters who have forecast an impending doom for them.
Undoubtedly, it is clear that there are more serious problems to be faced by them in the nearest future not precluding any of the impacted victims, if MULTINATIONAL OIL COMPANIES and the government, who have been operating in the area for several decades, do not arrest the situation as soon as possible .
9.1 Economic Crunch, Current Starvation and Attendant Effects on the Impacted People of the Niger Delta Region.
At the time of our inspections, verification and assessments, all we could see was only vast devastated meters of farmlands with spilled crude and large expanse of water with crude floating uncontained in most cases, a pragmatic sign of greatly impacted areas.
On Interview they narrated:
Like in the Erema accumulated pollution report from ELF Petroleum Company (Nig.) Ltd. Erema well 6, 7 & 8 oil spill on the Umuokarakpo and Umuobi families property in Erema in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni L.G.A of Rivers State,(Texaco Funiwa Field Off-Shore Oil Spill on 12th - 13th July 1998 at Bayelsa State, Shell Petroleum Company Nigeria Limited oil spill on 23rd - 25th October, 1998 at Santabadara River and Mobil Oil Producing Unlimited on 12th January 1998 oil spilled at Qua Iboe Idoho Eket Station in Akwa Ibom State). We noticed large quantity of crude oil spilled on the land surface and also those on the water have the same proportion of crude when the test were carried out. The spills occasioned the weeding off of most crop/economic tree and killed almost all the fishes in the streams, ponds and pending on the location of the spill, it was very obvious that the survivors of several terrestrial organisms lost their natural food chain in their various ecological systems.
On close interview, (in most of the places), complaints like these
were evident that crude oil was tasted in cocoyam, cassava tubers, and
spinal cords of fishes.
They added, "we full of matter (words) but my spirit constraineth us
for now, our bellies are as wine which has no vent (cover) they are ready
to burst for the anger of what the MULTI-NATIONAL OIL COMPANIES and their
collaborators had mothered and tailored".
