A Disclaimer

The Edo-Community egroup [www.edo-community@egroups.com], moderated by Frank Guobadia and Nowa Omoigui, is an international internet forum with over 400 subscribers on four (4) continents established to facilitate networking among Edo(id) speaking people.  Postings span a wide range of ancient and modern historical and cultural subjects, including contemporary Nigerian news of specific interest to Edo and Delta States.  Membership is dynamic and voluntary.  Other than providing an informal outlet for computer literate individual subscribers to spar with one another, the forum itself has no official political position on any matter.  Postings of individual subscribers reflect the personal views of the said subscribers, not the "corporate" views of the Edo speaking people.

The viewpoints of groups and associations of Edo speaking people captured in signed public statements are attributable to those groups, such as the Edo National Association (ENA) or its Committee of Presidents (COP).  Such press releases may on occasion be posted on Edo-Community egroup pages and other web pages as one mechanism of propagation, but do not reflect the views of the egroup.   With specific reference to the email dialogue that followed the Nigerian Army's Internal Security Operation at Odi, less than ten (10) subscribers out of over 400 voiced their opinions one way or another.  The official position of Edos in North America was contained in a formal Press release signed by the Secretary-General of the ENA after extensive consultations with over 50 local organizations across the United States and Canada, many of whom are not subscribed to the Edo Internet Egroup.
